We are looking for an experienced:
Client Service Manager – Non Clinical Safety Assessment (m/f)

to be based in our Harrogate office
In this position you will act as the line manager and day-to-day supervisor of a group of dedicated client services staff. In addition, you are responsible for all aspects of proposal management within your defined product line(s). As the senior client service member of your team, you will be frequently requested to represent that product line in meetings and strategic discussions. As such you will be the front face of the European Non-Clinical Safety Assessment Group..
You act as the line manager for members of the assigned Client Services team, perform general supervisory duties including work scheduling, performance evaluation activities, career development, preparation of training plans and execution of diversity goals
Ensure appropriate communication within the section, involving particularly the dissemination of information
Work closely with other client service teams, both in Harrogate and elsewhere within Covance Europe
Responsible for all aspects of proposal management within your defined territory/client/product line(s). Provide focused support ensuring that financial targets are met and that an appropriate forward load is maintained
Actively involved in the development and effective delivery of a business plan in support of your product lines in conjunction with Operations
In conjunction with the Global Directors BU Client Services, regularly review pricing policy and participate in establishing prices for individual studies, ensuring that the services offered remain competitive
Play a key part in the global Client Service Manager group for strategic partnering and harmonizing processes
Assess market analyses regarding business potentials. Foresee market needs
Active involvement in the organisation of scientific conferences. These can include conference client events and trade shows at exhibitions. Particularly important to this role is the organisation of on-site promotional events and Covance sponsored scientific symposia. Attendance at these events may be required, along with the timely follow-up of any resulting leads
Minimum BSc degree or equivalent in a chemistry/biological science or related area
Thorough scientific understanding, preferably working experience in the field of toxicology
Driving licence
Fluency in English (oral and written)
French skills are considered advantageous
Required experience
Experience in the field of Client Services required
Excellent, proven line management skills
Excellent customer service skills, meticulousness and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (with team members and customers)

Diplomacy and professionalism in dealing with customers and confidential information
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to undertake multiple simultaneous tasks would be a strong advantage.
Ability to work to deadlines, plan and prioritise your own work and strict confidentiality
Knowledge of regulatory requirements beneficial
Supervisory and management experience beneficial
