We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Applications Programmer ideally to be based in our Maidenhead office but we could also consider candidates being home based.
The Clinical Applications Programmer is responsible for delivering technical services (Electronic Data Capture (EDC), Oracle Clinical, Imaging and Thesaurus Management System) within the scope of assigned clinical trials to achieve project integrity and the delivery of on-time, quality data. The Clinical Applications Programmer will act as technical liaison with project team members and Data Managers to assist with the technical aspects of project delivery. In this role you will be working as part of a global team and have an excellent opportunity to develop within your role.
About the Job
Other responsibilities and duties may include:
Serve as a back-up to the Senior Programmers in the Lead Designer role
Participate in the development of global, harmonised SOPs and specific quality work instruction for study design and programming activities
Advance technical competency through participation in internal and external professional seminars and participation in professional organisations such as Oracle Clinical User’s Group (OCUG)
Complete assigned work according to Covance SOPs, Work Instructions and project specific guidelines in accordance with Good Clinical Practices
Under supervision, prepare and /or review draft and final annotated data capture instruments and Physical Data Models for assigned projects utilising Covance standard or client specifications to ensure quality and consistency
Perform quality control procedures for database development
Participate in the ongoing review of the processes used by the Study Design and Programming Group to ensure adaptation of best Practices
Prioritise personal workload to meet specified completion dates and perform work with limited supervision and direction
Perform all activities related to study build and design
Maintain study databases for assigned projects
Define standard coding dictionaries for assigned projects
Advise management of changes in scope of projects to enable the timely development of change orders
Implement processes as they are refined or as new processes are developed and initiate and participate in the ongoing review of the processes to ensure they are continually improved
Perform all work with knowledge of regulations pertaining to computerised systems to projects to ensure compliance
