GMP EQUIPMENT & METROLOGY ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (Biotechnology & CMC-PDS)

Recent major investments have been made in facilities on the Harrogate site and we are recruiting for GMP Equipment and Metrology Administration Officer within Biotechnology & CMC-PDS department to be part of our exciting and expanding future, working with progressive management, inventive technologies and alongside other talented scientists.

As an office based GMP Equipment & Metrology Administration Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring laboratory equipment documentation, including routine service documents, qualification documents, are uploaded into an electronic metrology file management system under GMP compliant regulations.
• Raise requisitions for the purchase of new laboratory equipment and
arrange service contracts.
• Update and maintain the centralised electronic schedule of all laboratory equipment service, calibration and qualification visits.
• Liaise with laboratory equipment manufacturers and engineers for the timely servicing or repair.
• Archiving of historical metrology records.
• To assist with the administration of various metrology documents, forms and standard operating procedures.

The position will report directly to the GMP Equipment & Metrology Administration Supervisor.

About You

You are ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in life science and should ideally possess practical experience of a relevant subject. A sound working knowledge of ‘Good Laboratory Practice’ and ‘Good Manufacturing Practice’ would be advantageous.

Due to the varied nature of the work involved, you must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to administration work, possess excellent communication and time management skills and be able to maintain a high standard of record keeping.

The post holder should have GCSE or equivalent passes in English language, Mathematics and a science subject.
•Post holder should be familiar with Windows applications including Word and Excel.
•The post holder should possess a good telephone manner, and be able to communicate effectively at all levels with other Covance employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc.
•A degree of manual dexterity is desirable, a background of working to written procedures would be required.
•Good interpersonal skills for liaison with all staff.
•General computer awareness and knowledge of Word and Excel.
•Good verbal and written communication skills
