This role will be based in our office in Maidenhead. You will be spending the majority of your time focusing on strategic and cost reduction focused projects involving top-priority business initiatives. You will be part of a global team and will have the opportunity to develop in your role and career.
About the Job
Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect goods and services needed (HR, Travel and IT).
Assure ongoing relationships are maintained with customer groups and other constituencies within Covance, including other sourcing professionals that support identification and prioritization of short and long term needs.
Ensure core procurement processes and principles are effectively applied and decisions are based on total value not just price.
Negotiate pricing, contractual terms and conditions, performance requirements within broad guidelines and with limited oversight/guidance.
Oversee supplier performance monitoring, including Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), as well as tracking savings in accordance with established methodologies
Perform market research and spend analysis on various categories and make sure cost savings are done where possible.
Managing the relationship with the vendor
Prioritizes strategic sourcing projects using best practices for data acquisition and evaluation, risk assessment, stakeholder identification and involvement, rationalizing and standardizing product or service components, building demand plans, conducting marketplace assessments, using RFI/RFP/RFQ (request for information / request for pricing / request for quotation)
About You
Educated to a Bachelor degree or equivalent
Experience implementing procurement improvement/cost savings initiatives, as well as supplier improvement programs.
Excellent communication skills
Experience drafting contracts and other agreements
excellent negotiating skills
preferably experience in working in a global environment
Used to work autonomously while remaining focused and motivated to achieve goals
