At our newly acquired site in Alnwick, Northumberland, we are recruiting for a Senior Formulation Scientist to join our team of pharmaceutical and analytical scientists. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of developing robust and scalable pharmaceutical formulations at scales at least compatible with phase I/II clinical trials and preferably with experience at larger scales. The role entails dealing with internal and external clients so strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Experience will include:
Demonstrable expertise in the development of pharmaceutical formulations, for example sterile drug product formulations, solid dose forms, oral solutions and semi solid dosage forms
An excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical formulation processing equipment
The development of drug products from preformulation to clinical manufacture and ideally experience of scale up and technology transfer
A thorough understanding of GMP regulations
Knowledge of the principles and application of experimental design
Mentoring and supervision of staff
Familiarity with the CMC content of regulatory documentation
The successful candidate will have either a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences with a minimum of 5 years' post doctoral experience or significant post graduate experience in pharmaceutical development.
