Covance is a leading global drug development services company and we provide support to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.
We are presently looking for a:
Sr. Business Manager (m/f)
Summary

This is a senior, highly strategic position within the Business Development Operations Group, with responsibility for co-coordinating and project managing Covance's internal business activities for assigned clients. This role involves working closely with Account Executives (Sales), Proposal Development, Operational Strategy and Planning Group (OS&P) and Contract Management staff, interfacing with Covance Operational staff. It is a pivotal role within the company, collaborating with the sales group to enhance client relationships and secure new business for Covance.

Your duties and responsibilities:
Manage the development of integrated seamless proposals in response to client request for proposal (RFP)
Act as a “Champion” internally for business opportunities from RFP through presentation to handover into contracts
Coordinate responses from OS&P and other Covance units especially for multi capability opportunities, review tenders from other Covance Business Units for consistency
Work with Sales to ensure value messages for client hot buttons are developed and articulated within the proposal and client presentation
Review of integrated clinical proposals (costs and text) and client related documentation/presentations
Review and incorporate pertinent pipeline information and Win/Loss analysis feedback into proposal and presentation strategy
Manage re-costs and prepare extra information as required during the bidding process
Manage, prepare, coordinate and deliver client presentations including presentation strategy meetings incorporating feedback from Scientific Strategic Solutions Group (3SG). Overseeing preparation of client folders and supplementary client information.
Coach and mentor the Project Team for presentation meeting
Attend bid defense and client meetings if requested
Instigate and lead Project Launch - Hand Over process to Contract Management, Clinical, Project Planning and Finance commencing from verbal award up to contract signature and to assist in facilitating smooth contract negotiations when a project is awarded.
Work with contract management to ensure timely submission of change orders in case of re-costing.
Lead and participate in global Business Development process improvement initiatives.

Required Education:
BSc in life Science and/or MBA
Fluency in English, written and verbal
Driving license

Required Experience:
Approximately 5 years experience in a Business Development environment or Clinical function for a similar organisation (CRO or Pharmaceutical company). in order to have gained sufficient knowledge and experience.
Diplomacy and professionalism in dealing with customers and confidential information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (with team members and customers).
Meticulousness and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements beneficial.
Ability to work to deadlines and plan and prioritise your work.
Strict confidentiality.
Sound user knowledge of software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Notes etc).
